EgyptAir is one of the world’s pioneer airlines. Established in May 1932. EgyptAir, formerly known as Misr Airlines, is the 7th oldest airline in the world. History
EgyptAir’s humble beginning in 1932 was with the Spartan Cruiser, which could carry a maximum of 10 passengers and this flight operated from Cairo to Alexandria. Within a decade, EgyptAir started its international operations with flights from Cairo to prominent cities in Iraq, Israel and Sudan.
In July 2008, EgyptAir joined the Star Alliance network, one of the world's largest airline networks, providing end-to-end service for frequent flyers to ensure a convenient, smooth and efficient worldwide travel experience. Now, with 24 Airbus and 41 Boeing aircrafts, each capable of carrying over 300 passengers, EgyptAir has emerged as one of the most prominent airlines in Egypt.
Egypt Air Plus
The EgyptAir Plus program is an Egyptair loyalty program, which aims to reward customers for their continued loyalty and strengthen its relationship with the customer.
EgyptAir Plus is designed to encourage frequent fliers to enroll in the program free of charge to earn Miles. This allows guests to earn and redeem miles across Star Alliance's carrier airlines. Passengers can access lounges depending on the type of flight ticket and frequent flyer status or class of travel.
Awards
EgyptAir was the first Airline in Africa to receive the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification for safety. EgyptAir consecutively received the Award for North Africa’s Leading airline in 2004 & 2005. In 2011, the airline won Africa’s Leading Airline - Business class.
EgyptAir was also nominated for Africa's Leading Airline in 2021.
Class of Travel
EgyptAir provides customers with a choice to choose from two classes. Customers can choose their preferred class during the reservation.
Business-class passengers can unwind before a flight with access to the airport lounge.
Economy-class passengers not only enjoy the space and comfort of the seats but also can indulge in the tasty inflight cuisine.
Baggage Allowance
EgyptAir allows free baggage allowance varies with regard to the specification, number of bags, dimensions & weight of baggage per piece and class of travel, with upto 32 kg for business class and 23 kg for economy class passengers.

In-flight services
EgyptAir provides an array of options for passengers, even offering special meal preferences such as Hot Diabetic meals, Hindu, Kosher, Seafood, and special meal for infants, including strained fruits, vegetables, and meat. These meals can be requested while making the flight reservation. Please note that EgyptAir has a strict no-alcohol on board policy and does not serve alcoholic beverages on board.
The airline's entertainment system comes with a vast selection of movie shows from around the world, TV programs and Audio channels for all members of the family, allowing you to sit back and relax throughout your journey.
Check-in
Check-in facility for all passengers, both domestic and international is from 48 hours before departure, and up until 90 minutes before their flight’s scheduled departure time.

To improve the accessibility of air travel to passengers with reduced mobility, EgyptAir has set a number of guidelines to ensure that these special needs are understood and provided accordingly.
EgyptAir also provides special services for the elderly, young travellers, expectant mothers and customers with special needs.
Refund & Cancellation
If you need to cancel a paid flight booking, the rules and conditions of the fare class booked will apply. Travellers can cancel their booking on the EgyptAir website and submit an online refund claim.
Please note that all refunds are subject to a refund fee per passenger based on fare conditions. Your reservation will be cancelled automatically after submitting the online refund application form. Once the refund request is submitted, the reservation cannot be retrieved again.
